Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like most of the failure stories I've heard resulted from imperfect installation, except that one of the brands had trouble with the padding disconnecting from the adhesive, and it sounds like the MFR fixed the problem.

I will be beaching my boat a lot, almost always on sand, but still definitely going to get the guard on very soon.
