Hiya,

I ran an Etec150 last year for the first time... I could not be happier with it!! Instant start up, even in the coldest conditions, smooth and quiet at idle, and lots of pep in the lower RPM range. That is the benefit of the 2 stroke technology...There is more low end torque in the engine to get you up and going as compared to a similar 4 stroke engine... 4 strokes are good, don't get me wrong there...they just cannot build the same power at the bottom as the 2 stroke DFI engines....they have a fairly flat power curve overall.

I think you will love the Etec!! It is less maintenance than a 4 stroke and although you will feel like you are paying more in oil when you fill it, you'll most likely fill the oil reservoir 1 time and be good for a season unless you are out daily and running around a lot with the big motor. XD100 oil is not cheap, but you won't use much of it.

And....if you search a bit, you can find it here and there for about 35 a gallon for a 3 gallon case. I was successful with that last year through jet.com.... have not seen it since, though..

Steve
