If you only troll that slow a handful of times per year why not just use the bowmount? I use my main engine for 1.5mph and above but use my bow mount if I need to go slower than that, obviously wind and trolling direction dependant. Another thing that works well is dropping the Vantage and turning it on a slow speed, 1 to 5, to get you to slow down. There are many tricks to slow the boat down but getting close to 1.0mph using the main motor is not likely in most situations.
