The two connected will share Way-points and Transducers via Ethernet cable and NEMA network cabling, but maps will not share between the two devices no matter what. There is too much difference between the operating systems on each unit. If you have a Side Imaging transducer installed the Carbon will share the image with the Gen 1. They just can't share maps, picture quality difference between the Gen 1 and the Carbon will be noticeable.
