Hydrostatic inflator technology is the only style I wear. Vest must be under water to inflate. There has been no accidental inflation of my vest in five years of wearing it. I never remove it when fishing solo even in heavy rains. Great product. Several of my friends wear the same vest as mine with complete satisfaction. My 2 cents
