I recently went through this same decision. Most recently I had a Lund Pro-V 1900 and a 1775 before that. I was a Lund lover, so I am not bashing Lund.
I went with a Skeeter MX2040 last spring. I would consider the Skeeter similar to the Ranger you are considering.
All I can say is that to me there is a night and day difference between the Lund and Skeeter. The Skeeter tracks MUCH better, that may seem like a minor issue but when you are using your electric trolling motor in a strong wind, the fiberglass boat goes where you want it to go and not where the wind wants it to go.
The ride is much better, more room on the inside due to narrower gunnels, better storage, etc.
You can put similar motors and electronics on either one, so that should be a wash.
Hope this helps.
