Vilas15 - 1/10/2019 6:56 PM The manual type won't help any in the situations where you'd need a life jacket the most, during emergencies when you can't swim due to being knocked unconscious, etc.

Second that - it's really the only way to go. TBF I think I read that half of all recovered bodies in lake or at sea had their fly down. The speculation was that there's been some drinking going on, so more than one way to go unconscious!
