I purchased a mustang. I choose the one with the most buoyancy when inflated. I decided to do that so no matter how much clothing or heavy boots I am wearing I would float. I can also see a scenario when a boat partner without a pdf needs to hold on to me. I also choose a model that needs to be submerged (water pressure) to activate. I had another brand inflate in my garage because of the humidity. Like others said, I forget I am wearing the mustang.
