Hiya,

If it can come with brakes, I would say by all means get them. It is an extra measure of security on the road. Granted your truck will do the job, but if you have to stop really quick, that extra set whether surge or electric, or electric over hydraulic...it all helps out to get you stopped in the shortest distance possible.

I would agree on getting disc brakes as well.. They do a much better job of stopping as the force is sideways to the rotor as compared to a drum which works against the direction of travel. And most definitely, easier to service as there are no springs, no shoes to adjust for clearance, etc. It is a much much simpler system to work on.
