With smart driving choices more that we all think, but you are the most important part of this equation, so looking at weather for the days before, during and day after a trip is wise, and don't go from 0 to 100%, but each day you keep learning what/how much it can handle till your back hurts. Then you will know your comfort level. I can say I have been in leech with 40 mph winds and catch solid crap but "I know", point is I didn't go to leach and know I was good the first day I ran a bass boat, it took time to learn and gain faith to get to that point
