I bought a starcraft superfishermen 186 a few years back and started with a 80lb 60in shaft terrova. While it did ok around home in fairly calm conditions if the wind started blowing it would pop out every so often and had to run it on a higher speed going into then wind. I used it the first year to get by then bought the 112 with 72" shaft. Much better. With a deeper v aluminum boat like ours once you get into some waves the bow likes to bounce up so in my opinion the 72" shaft is needed and you might as well get the 112lb thrust cause you can run on a lower speed and the batteries last alot longer. Best choice i made was going to the 112 72in.
