Location: The desert | My HDS 7 powers up with the exact same cord. My last unit worked with the exact same cord. Literally nothing has changed with the power cord, except I swapped the 3 amp fuse that was in there with a 5 amp one thatbwas sent with the unit. But the only time it fully powered on was with the 3 amp fuse.
I don't have a separate power cord to hook up directly to the battery. I don't really want to take the current set up apart because it has worked with two other HDS units for a few years now with zero issues. I just ran my HDS 7 on that cord the other day when I took the kids fishing.
I'm just not having good luck this season. |
