As has already been mentioned, you should install a hi-speed skimmer transducer and Y-cable. The y-cable joins the two signals of the 2D and SI/DI transducers to a single plug into the HELIX unit. You'll maintain good depth readings on plane with the skimmer, whereas the big SI transducer loses contact with the bottom at high speeds because it displaces more water and creates an air pocket under the transducer while on plane.

Also, you will be able to mount your SI/DI transducer higher up, less likely to hit obstructions under the boat. The big transducer will only need to be in good contact with the water at speeds of less than 8mph, when you use SI/DI. Take a look at the the diagram. The two items are at most $100 total to do it right and do it once.
