Dont think color matters, but I have seen a difference in boatside strikes fishing out of bass boat vs a deep V in very shallow clear water in spring. The deep V seemed to cause them to put the brakes on, perhaps because im not sure there is enough room for them to slide underneath in the skinny water we occasionally fish.
