Splash well, on my dads boat we made a rear deck that went over the splash well, but must figure you may be rather high out of the water and that can make figure 8's harder.

Depending on age/value and plans for the boat we should have cut most of that particular splashwell out and just made the deck shorter and full size, but that is hindsight 20/20 and the knowledge that water was never really in the splashwell to begin with so, think your plan through about 5 times over and do it
