It would be hard not to be impressed with the performance and room difference between a 621 and a 620 on big water, and agree the FS is better over-all than the VS in terms of performance. The new 621FS is longer, deeper and wider than my old 621VS, and they have added some very nice interior upgrade features like you mentioned. Again, I don't want to make this into a gripe session as I was just pointing out that the FS feels like it was somewhat slapped together while the earlier VS had more of a hand built top-of-the-line look and feel. It was with some of the details in the overall construction where I noticed some quality differences… you learn a lot when you disassemble/reassemble while rigging.

One of the last things I did before putting the FS in storage was fix the plastic dash gauge surround that had every screw stripped/loose from the factory because the plastic shell is simply too thin for the job. I had to fold a piece of aluminum over the edge of the holes in the plastic just to get the dash gauge screws secure. Getting back to the plastic cockpit area; it not only looks cheap, I bet the painted plastic will discolor and get beat up looking after some time on the water.

Otherwise there were four or five different interior panels on my boat that had screws that missed their mark and were simply screwed into air, and although the little plastic dash cubbyhole is handy, the plastic edges are sharp to the touch… shouldn't have this stuff on a top-of-the-line boat.

What about that bizarre almost non-functioning FS glove box? I bet the new Vexus will have a better design and the old Ranger quailty… but then again, how could it not.
