Hiya,

Thats what I was thinking as well. The odd part is the sacrificial anode at the bottom of the lower unit mounting is there and working as it is showing pitting itself.

I wonder if when the lower unit went through the sand that some of the aluminum was exposed, and somehow there is a low electrical charge running through the system while charging?

I have this on my rig when I am charging my boat, I have felt a very low level charge when my forearms hit the gunnel where the paint has chipped off... I have not been able to isolate the issue yet...
