Location: MN | Have a Helix 7 at the bow, and had it connected to the universal sonar on the Terrova, which is about 6 years old. Started having trouble with it reading depth properly last fall, so talked to Humminbird rep this spring and he was convinced it is the US on the motor that is going or gone. So I attached the external skimmer transducer that came with the Helix and plugged that in instead. Seemed to work just fine for a couple weekends, now that is reading off and on as well (occasionally will jump to hundreds of feet, or vary drastically. Sometimes if we turn it off and then back on the proper depth will be indicated) Any suggestions what may be the issue? Is there a way to test the external transducer to make sure it is good? Is this possibly an interference issue? I have a Helix 7 at the console also but with SI transducer only, and not hooked together. Also a Lowrance at console with skimmer transducer at transom. Anyone have similar problems and what did you wind up doing to fix it? Thanks | |
