The Onix does have touch screen and will share map card data over a network, whereas Helix will need a separate card for each unit you want to view the contour information. The trifuel cartography simply means that both the ONIX and new SOLIX have the ability to run a variety of different aftermarket map cards.

In terms of the sonar, the new HELIX MEGA SI GPS G2N and SOLIX MEGA SI GPS have the same capabilities and technologies, as well as all of the same advancements in user-enabled mapping via AutoChart Live with vegetation and bottom hardness mapping.

To your original topic, the Onix series has been replaced by the SOLIX series of touchscreen units. These, like the ONIX, offer a lot more customization of sonar screens, operation and settings. There is a difference user interface on these units than the HELIX units. Depending on your wants, needs, application and budget, you should be able to find a unit that you will be satisfied with and will help you catch more fish.
