Ok gentlemen. Brand new to the whole boat game but picked up two gen 1 helix 7's brand new in box for 600, one even has the navionics chip included! One is a side image & gps, the other a sonar & gps. My plans are to have the sonar at the console and side image at the bow by my trolling motor. My question is: now what the heck do I do and more importantly, what else do I need? I'm guessing a transom transducer for the sonar and a side image transducer mounted on the trolling motor, cables to connect everything, anything else? Also I only have 2 battery's right now for the trolling motor (70lb thrust minnkota edge) and electric starter but will i need to grab another battery, dedicate 2 to the trolling motor alone and one to the starter and electronics? Please take it easy, I'm brand new to this and am working on my own interpretations from previous threads. I'm probably mistaken, looking forward to hearing from you guys! Thanks.
