I think my 621 has the same problem but it stays inside most of time. My rod locker and front hatches always leak from waves over the bow though. My solution has been to leave the hatches open for a couple days after every trip like you say.

What might be of interest to you is that I took the stupid carpet out because it got so nasty, much better now without that moldy stinking carpet. Ranger never should have put any in there to begin with .


Do you have double locks on the storage compartments Jerry. They are a huge plus if not and will likely eliminate water leaks.
The locks themselves can leak through worn out o rings. You can take them apart and get new o rings to eliminate that issue also. You might be surprise how much water can enter through improperly sealed locks.
