I didn't care for the tablet-wireless thing, screen wasn't bright enough for daylight use. Maybe tablets are better now? If you can afford it, just get 2 9's. Love mine. You will want the bigger screen if you wanna be able to see anything on the structure scan.

Wiring is easy, but I have an aluminum boat though.

I was looking at the HDS9 Gen3 but I dont wanna drop 3k for 2 fish finders when I can spend $200 for wifi module and test app on tablets I have the tablets Ill give it a try and if I dont like then I guess Illl have to drop some cash...

Hope it works out for ya. Just make sure you try the tablets out in the sun first, I couldnt see anything on them when I had it setup in my boat. Worked for low light but not in sunlight. If you dont get an otterbox right away: I kept mine in a gallon ziplock bag to keep water off it. The touch screen works thru the bag plastic.

I hope it works too save a ton of money...I was looking a cases online that have built in Sunshades thinking that might solve the brightness problem and the sun shade is removable and adjustable so I think that might be the answer and yes I will have to get some Nice cases if they work out to protect them...
Thanks for help I appreciate
