Going to update my Gen 1 HDS5 on bow. Have a I-Pilot Terrova. Was a standard '09 Terrova that I updated to I-Pilot a few yrs ago. Have a Gen 1 or 2?? HDS7 at dash hooked up to Structurescan.

Debating on a few options.
1. New Bird Helix 10, update Terrova to I-link. Pros, I-link. Cons, = buy Lakemaster Chips, can't share waypoints with HDS 10, cost of I-link update.
2. New HDS Gen 3 9 or 12. Pros = share waypoints with existing, use present chips,no cost to update Terrova. Cons = no I-link.

I fish for muskie a lot. On shoreline structure alot. When I-link first came out, I had cool thoughts of just plugging in a depth along a shore and let it follow the shore at depth. I also troll a lake that that has fabulous very irregular mid-lake structure, drop-offs that I troll for walleyes alot and possibly muskies in the future, since it was first stocked a few years ago for musky.

I know I-link just follows the lake chip, if the lake chip is not accurate, not the greatest. The two lakes I fish alot both are surveyed by Insight and Lakemaster with high-def surveys and I know at least the Insight ones are pretty accurate, so I would think the Lakemasters would be also.

Long story, short. Is the I-link worth it?
