When we had a seasonal cottage where we built our retirement home, we had an issue with mice and chipmunks. Then we used a combination of dryer sheets and a plug in ultra high frequency sound generator. That did the trick. I have a large storage garage where we keep the fishing boat and pontoon, along with a lot of other gear and we have two of those plug in devices and they seem to work. They do have to be plugged in to a 110 outlet.
