Location: 31 | I've got some fairly significant scratches on the sides of my boat from netted fish hooks, so I hold the net away from the boat for the initial fish thrashing deal, that might help some along with covering the handle.
I tried hanging a shammy over the side to avoid the hook scratches, it was a hasle, but would guess it would be easier to do for the gunnel.
As an aside; I started using the shammy to cover up tangled lure hooks in the net to grab the fish… that's works great and is a faster and safer way to deal with that issue.
