Not sure how it could be anything but that. That housing includes the drive motor and everything. Its not an electrical issue its mechanical and all of the guts are contained within that housing. Originally i thought the collar was just dry where it interlocks into top of housing, but over time the squeaking got worse and went from squeaking to a full on screech where the drive would try to catch and every once in a while would but then strip out.
