I have a 60hp tiller 2010 that was doing this on and off for 2 summers. This would happen even when I was in the boat fishing. Never could quite figure out what was causing this. Along with this, my starting battery would go dead after fishing 3 or 4 days. Thought I had a bad battery but after all this happening it turned out that there was a short on the power trim motor. Even though my motor was just out of warranty, Yamaha stood behind it and now all is good.
