Location: With my son on the water | I had the EXACT same issue and we changed out all the relays and the problem continued. We continued to trouble shoot, we disconnected the trim switch on the motor and the problem continued. We then hit the trim switch on the handle with a hair dryer and covered it with a plastic bag and the problem went away. We later changed out the trim switch on the handle. I later learned that the seal on trim switches can go and allow moisture in which causes the problem you are explaining. We both got lucky our rigs didn't burn up as the trim pump would keep running.
Now I have installed a master shutoff switch on my battery too so everything is shutoff (the trim too) when I am not near the boat which really helps me sleep better. |
