I did some bluegill fishing with my daughter on Saturday, giving the muskies a little rest with the warm water.

Anyhow ran about 15 minutes to the spot, then anchored, re positioned with the electric.

In short, I didn't run my 40hp motor for about 6 hours. When we where ready to leave I clicked it over and nothing. The trim/tilt wouldn't go.

I disconnected and reconnected my deep-cycle and she started right up back to the launch, etc.

OK - now to my question. How long can I run a Lowrance HDI-5 without draining the battery? I also had my white light on while anchored until the sun came up.

How much run time do I need for the motors alternator to recharge?

Last, can I connect my unit to the deep cycle battery instead of the starting battery?

Thanks in advance.
