Yeah basically the transducers are not the best at running at high speeds so you either have to try adjusting it so that it gets down into cleaner water or add a second ducer meant for higher speeds, or a through-hull unit. Often you might end up with a rooster tail if you have it pointed down into the water too much below the hull, but that's the tradeoff for getting accurate readings at speed
