Comes down to what you want. I had a single console nice boat .my mom started going fishing on nice days when it don't get to hot. I went to a dual console she likes that much better .she will be 86 this year she likes to have something to hide behind. When she comes with it only go 20 MPH after that she said she it's to fast slow down. So yes you will lose some space up front but if you have a wife or girl friend they will appreciate having something to hide behind
