They will not do that and that is something I am taking into consideration. I am not sure if map shading is something I want over a higher number of lakes. I was hoping that someone has used both versions and had some input. I fish some smaller lakes in N. WI and the 2014 Lake master didn't have them mapped and my 2009 Navionics chip did which I found surprising. I'm not opposed to buying Lake Master chips for both states, I just want to make sure it will be worth the money.


More than likely the 2009 Navionics actually did not have the small lakes mapped. I have noticed (on my Navionics smartphone app) they simply took the old DNR maps and just penciled in 1' contours. Still not accurate, just looks better.
