Love mine Gold,
Couldn't have as much success as I've had without it. Too many people in my boat, too little boat control without Ipilot.

Your Questions:

1) Yes, In a lot of cases I use the follow the contour, but I've got some tracks I prefer to use. How accurate depends on your boat/trolling motor combo and the weather conditions. Obviously, wind and weather conditions can effect how accurate your tracks are. I do a lot of my fishing off my Pontoon boat with the family and as long as the wind isn't too bad, the Ipilot keeps me very on track. It will automatically correct, but if the wind is too bad, it can't. I need to upgrade my TM as well and that doesn't help.

2) Yes, you can. I spot lock when there is a fish on or if i have a couple follows in a short distance. Resuming the track is a matter of a couple button pushes on the remote. With a Humminbird, it's even easier.

3) Absolutely, the Cruise control function is awesome. You adjust the speed via the remote to whatever you want. I like to run weed lines at .5 to .7, speeding up to cross to different areas. Very simple and easy to use.

In summary, I absolutely love my Ipilot system and when I upgrade to an Ulterra later this year (Gotta bust the piggy bank..) it'll have the link on it. I fish with sometimes up to 5 people casting, if I didn't have the Link, I wouldn't make too many casts..
The Autochart program is another plus to the system if you have a 'Bird on the boat, I love that too. Makes my own maps more accurate than anything you can buy.

I'm not sponsored by Humminbird or Minn Kota, I just love products that function as described and make my water time more enjoyable.

HTH,
RandalB
