The large port side livewell stays dry if you leave the valve in RECIRC. For added insurance you can put a cork in the intake line as well.

the front deck livewell won't stay dry unless you plug the overflow standpipe. Water will enter there when you are in reverse.

I used the large port side livewell as dry storage and it stayed very dry with this method. It was also very easy to switch back and forth between using it as a livewell vs. dry storage.
