I went to the dealers: Honda and Yamaha both over an hour away and they are both fine motors. The 25 HP is a bit heavy for my smaller boat and they each suggested the 20 HP models. I can see Yamaha has come a long way since I bought mine in 2002.
I think I will go with electric start despite the cost, pull starting a 20 HP is a bit of work and I can a cold start on a cold morning might make me glad to just push a button. I'm not getting any younger. Unfortunately trim is manual on the 20 HP versions for both motors when at high speed. Trim (tilt) is nice but only works when your moving very slowly, say over shallow water.
