Dan,

I have an 588, 998 and Ipilot link all connected thru an ethernet hub and if I remember correctly, they do share waypoints. Pretty sure they don't share maps or transducers. If you have ipilot link, you will need to have a lakemaster map chip in at least one of head units to control (follow contour, track, etc) the terrova from that unit. If you have a map chip in both, I believe you then can control from either.

I really like the fact that when I'm using autopilot, an arrow is displayed on the map showing which way the trolling motor is pointed.

You might want to try asking this question on the humminbird site or give them a call just in case I've given you some bad info. They have always been real good about answering any questions I've had in the past.
