I can't think of any value, a standard DI would suffice, especially if on a lake like Crab Lake...you might lose a SI transducer while looking at SI screen. Better to just have shallow. water alarm, and that might not save you either. I wonder how many lower units or even TM's Crab has taken out? There are lakes where you can go from 40' to 1' in 6'.

I took my front sonar off, because it interferred with fishing!
