If you're looking to upgrade to another boat then... okay consider fixing for awhile, getting by and eventually trading up. Otherwise if its a boat you plan to keep long term - REPOWER. Older engines with problems seem to continue with problems even after fixing. Yamahas are great but it would give you a chance to upgrade to a 4 stroke with EFI. I did that exactly 3 years ago - traded the 2002 4 stroke carb for a 2013 4s EFI. Life is great when you have a motor that actually starts below 45 degrees!!
