Location: Hayward, WI | I had a 2000 Navigator 165 Tiller with 50 4 stroke Merc. The boat worked very well for me. I actually thought it ran rougher water pretty well. Had the wind really kick up on LOTW one day last year when we were out in the open and got back to the dock fine, but wasn't able to get it up on plane (pounded too much). Not sure any boat would have been fun in those waves though.
I thought the layout and storage was great for the boat's size. When at rest (casting), it did bob up and down a lot in a big chop. My glass Tuffy was so much better in that respect. But, if you are normally on small to medium size water (up to 6,000 acres or more depending on lake type), I think it will do just fine for you on most days.
Mine ran about 31 or 32 with me and a full musky load. In cool conditions with very little gear I'd hit 33. |
