Trim motor way down, let it drain, trim motor way up, then way down and let it drain some more.

Also...when the first frost is forecast I'll change my lower unit oil with fresh stuff and then when I put it away for the winter I'll change it again. Doing that gave me the heads up that I had a bad seal on a plug that was leaking. Oil was a bit milky. Replaced the plug, new oil, no problems. Would've hated to get hit with a hard freeze with any water in the lower unit. That would not have been fun.
