Subject: Water Freezing in Motor

I run a 2012 Opti ProXS 150. What do you guys do when you pull your boats out of the water on a cold day in regards to getting all the water out of the motor so it doesn't freeze up? I was told to trim motor all the way down to let the water drain and also turn the key and dry fire the motor for a few seconds to blow any excess water out. I've never fished much past the first weekend in October but looking to extend my season this year. Thanks.
