Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | Here's a couple of photo's of my setup for Esox Maniac (17'6" 1985 Skeeter SF150). I also have a trolling mast that fits into front pedestal and Bay of Quinte double planar boards that I made myself. Also a Down Easter rod holder mounted on each side rail, they are behind the downrigger trolling setup that sits on the side rails and is secured with 2 J-bolts on each side. Mount & removal is less than 5 minutes.
The rod holder to the left of the windshield is my prop wash rod holder, that one holds a 10" Ugly Stik 2pc Saltwater Surf Caster with large Shimano Saltwater spinning reel spooled w/65lb powerpro. There are two saltwater adjustable outrigger roller release clips on each side of the rear deck that the line gets clipped into so that the line is at deck level off either side of the motor. Its a automatic hook set - when fish hits that rod -the rod loads up and then release trips letting the rod snap straight and then set the hooks second time using the boat momentum as the rod reloads with fish on, its same as doing second hook set w/casting rod- drop tip and set! Works great....
I only only use downrigger setup when fishing for lakers, or deep walleye's. I also have a pair of Off-Shore planer boards and a pair of smaller Yellow Birds. Stopped using the small Yellow Birds because big pike & muskies were hitting them. LOL! You can see the bird running off to the left in the 1st photo. Yes- for all you back trolling walleye guys, I run my birds at 3-5mph, even at night.
Have fun!
