The problem with not going out when the water gets nasty is you lose days of fishing. Its a tough pill to swallow when you pay to go on a 5 day trip but spend days on land because the water is too rough.


I hear ya. Where I vacation there are plenty of inland lake options. I also plan 2 week vacations to accommodate for getting blown off the water. Those are the days I do the family stuff. The past couple Junes I had so many perfect days on my Great Lakes smallie trips that I had plenty of time to fish.

It's all a compromise for me. Deep V = higher sides with more difficult boat control in the wind but a safer/smoother/dryer ride when the water is rough. Bass boat = lower sides with easier boat control in the wind and bigger, wider deck but it results in rougher ride
