I just have to figure out how to get one of them on where the female end is actually sewn on to the cover (That strap that connects the motor cover to the boat cover). Oh well....I can make it work.

No problem, I would cut the old clip leaving only a frame around the loop to attach to, then attach the new clip to the old frame... or cut the new plastic clip frame and slide the nylon strap loop onto it if you can find some good plastic glue.
