Hiya,

So long as the gear oil meets the specification requirements of the motor itself, the warranty will not be void.

The big thing is getting a good gear lube you trust. I don't buy brand specific oil for my motor as I like to go full synthetic. So...for my personal preference I go with Amsoil. It has done very well for me for many years now, is fully synthetic so it stays a little more viscous in colder temps than conventional. Not much more expensive than conventional but not as expensive as brand specific.

I would say find out what the manufacture requires for gear oil specification and then go from there....
