It's a great boat. I bought one new in 1993 and used it 'til 2003. Mine was powered by a 115 Mariner which did a good job. I lived in Michigan at the time and used it a lot on Lake Erie, which it handled well. In the late 90's I lived in Northern IL and trailered it regularly to WI, Northern Minnesota, and even LOTW a couple of times. It's a good boat that trailers nicely, handles big water, yet can be dropped into smaller waters depending on the trailer. (mine was on a roller trailer)

It's also a good family boat for skiing and general boating. Lots of capacity, and the high sides make people comfortable.

I sold this boat in 2003 and bought a new showroom new 2001 Sylvan Excursion which I still fish today. The Excursion has a bigger front deck, a wider beam, shallower draft and a rear casting deck that goes all the way to the transom. (versus the Pro Select which has a full splashwell.) I started fishing muskies pretty hard in 2000 and decided I wanted the extra deck surface---thus the change.

I fish big lakes regularly, and LOTW a couple times a year so I know Sylvan' s are seaworthy in big water.

My only complaint---I've never been able to get my transducers to hold the bottom at speed---on either boat. I just can't find the "sweet spot". I used to use Lowrance, and now use Humminbird's...with the same high speed results.

By the by, I run a Yam 150 Four Stroke on my current Sylvan. It's a great motor with plenty of power. A buddy of mine has the Yam 115 Four Stroke on an 1850 Crestliner and it's been a good motor for him.

My thoughts...for whatever they're worth.
