With today's outboards I doubt it makes much diff. on the longevity issue.

I had a 115 2 stroke Yammy on my '97 boat w/o one single issue. Wonderful motor. I have a 150 4 stroke Yammy on my new boat now.

My sugg., if you can afford it, go with the 4 stroke w/o a second thought. You'll love the ease of it and quiet smoothness. It'd be a no-brainer if I lost this one..!!

I've had more than a couple friends say "Man, this things smooth!"
