Both have pros and cons. I ran a 4stroke the last 3 years and I really like it for being quiet and only having to change the oil once per season. In fact im picking up my new boat Saturday with another 4stroke (Yamaha F150), but I will say my first boat had a 90 etec. The low end torque absolutely amazing and hole shots are great. I love the ease of ownership of 4strokes but I do miss the snap of that etec! Not really that big of deal to add oil when needed so buy whatever has the best dealer near you. You will love either motor.
