I had some private emails that got me thinking: What have other's done with their old favorite boats to keep them fresh.

Here are the things I've done this summer with my old Tuffy Bass N' Maurauder, which is basically an Esox with front and back casting platforms--there aren't too many Tuffy's made for Bass fishing, this is just at the time a souped up Esox. There are more I'd like to do, but would love to compare notes and see pictures.

This summer I've:
1. drilled out and put in a new drain hole--mine coroded from battery acid in a long storage.
2. Took out all my old locators and glassed in ducers.
3. rewired and put in new lights.
4. Took out my 24 volt system and put in a 12 volt Watersnake trolling motor, (one big battery is easier than the two 24 volt system),
5. resanded and reattached the wiring grounds.
6. Washed and vacuumed and painstakingly cleaned the old carpet.
7. Put new hubs and all that goes with them on the axles.
8. Sanded down and repainted the wheels,
9. ripped off and redid the plates on the trailer next to the wheel wells.
10. Rebuilt the seat area of my boat,
11. Ground off the old rusty bolts and rebolted the console,
12. put a light in the rod locker.
13. Put a new Ray Marine e7D wi-fi locator in the boat, and now I use a tablet on wi-fi as my second locator screen, as well as my I-phone, very cool
14, bought about 6 cans of 3M waterproof spray for my old boat cover and rewater proofed it.
15. Buffed and pollished the boat glass.
16. New plugs,
17. New impellar,
18. new oil lines, (they got brittle and broke).
19. New fuel lines and tank, That made a big difference on how the motor ran.
20, new warning buzzer sensor.
20. Flitz'd the very stained, stainless prop.
21. New receiver hitch and tongue locks,
22. new storage compartment locks.
23. New bunk carpeting and new bunk boards.
24. New Prop lock

Probably more but that's all I can think of now.

It is actually a fun project, I love my boat it just got old in storage for a couple of years without using it.

I'd love to compare notes.
