Location: 31		My boat came with the helm seat base tapped/bolted to about a 16”x12”x3/8” polished aluminum plate screwed down directly on top of the carpet. I suspect the previous owner was a big guy who had it custom-made, it looks factory with everything countersunk and polished.

Any decent machine shop should be able to mount your base to any size plate you want/need, then you would be down the road with something that's easy to install and rock solid. I can post a picture if you're interested…
